Case-Based Lectures

Five sessions · 30 cases · 286 questions · PA and medical students

Andrew Bland, MD, FACP, FAAP · October 2026

Follow five sessions through 30 integrated nephrology cases. There are 283 case questions plus a three-question readiness quiz. Questions, explanations and current course readings are linked throughout.

Designed for PA students and third-year medical students: recognize the pattern, choose the next step, check medication safety and know when to escalate.

Read the presentation and make an individual choice. Discuss the key decision with your team, then reveal the explanation and compare your reasoning. Revisit the case later with answers closed. Five-option evidence updates are formative discussion prompts, not expert-panel-validated scores.

Complete all 13 supplementary cases. CBL-16 becomes required self-study if its optional classroom block is omitted; CBL-17 is enrichment. The coverage map shows how the course addresses all 161 core and important lecture objectives, distinguishing question practice from teaching explanations.
